The Brief
To mark 75 years of Porsche in Australia, Porsche needed an experience that did more than celebrate a milestone. It had to launch the 911 Turbo S “Land Down Under” – a one-off Sonderwunsch commission – while thanking customers, showcasing the four Compass Cars inspired by Australia’s landscapes and acknowledging Porsche’s history in Australia since 1951. The ambition started as a six city customer event series, designed to feel consistent nationally while still landing with impact in every room.
We Imagined It
Arrivals opened into the Compass Car gallery first – before guests saw the Land Down Under car or the dining room. The reveal became the hinge point of the night: a cinematic sequence inspired by the chromaflair pigments of the Land Down Under 911, imagining metallic water droplets travelling from the north, east, south and west of Australia, converging to form the 75 year mark.
We Designed It
We designed a gallery style narrative of Porsche in Australia – a timeline of milestones that set context without becoming museum-like. The Compass Car area was treated as the first hero moment, paired with Penfolds: each Compass Car matched with a wine story, giving guests a tactile way to move between design inspiration, vehicle detail and Australian place. Sound became a design material across the night. We curated a playlist across arrival, cocktails and dining, then composed a bespoke cinematic score to build anticipation for the reveal. The Land Down Under car sat on a precisely fitted stage platform: minimal, exacting, and designed to bring guests in close.
We Made It Happen
Team Event led the full delivery scope: design, renders, production schedule, site management, custom builds, soundtrack, lighting design, finishes, and on the ground execution. For the Sydney kickoff, we discovered, negotiated and secured The Cutaway at Barangaroo – a new venue that gave the series a sense of occasion from night one. Even before dates were locked and while two events were set to run in dealerships, we worked across states on venue scouting and research to keep the national rollout moving. On show day, the pace was uncompromising: 11 hours to bump in, build, rehearse, and open doors. We collaborated with ICC Sydney catering to hero Australian produce, and created ritual moments, including the “Grange Moment”, a bespoke cheese canapé course designed to elevate the toast.
What the Room Felt Like
The reveal landed as theatre. Guests were visibly in awe, then the shift into excitement as the Land Down Under car was finally revealed. And once the big moment passed, the night still rewarded curiosity. Guests loved discovering the hidden miniature artworks by Werner Bronkhorst – small, precise surprises that made the experience feel layered, not just staged.
